How do I do that? I just ran 6 miles this morning with a running group in Cambridge that I found online. When I showed up there were about 10 other runners whose goal was 20 miles today!!! What the hell? So I started out with them and they shot off around the charles river and I kept running much more slowly (even though it was raining and windy and I almost got blown over the BU bridge!) But now I can't believe I actually did it and am proud of myself for getting out there.I am going to be in NYC next weekend - want to go for a run?Beth

Oooh guest blogging – that would be cool. My long lost friend from middle school. I love your blog! I am running the Marine corps marathon in October and totally need to get my butt in gear and off the couch (where I currently am residing). First step is joining some sort of running club so I can run with others. Keep in touch - you are inspiring!

Sara! My long lost friend from middle school. My 2009 goal was to run 1,000 miles. I made my 1,000 miles on November 6, and finished the year at 1,205 miles. My goal for 2010 is 1,500 miles. The journey you are undertaking sounds similar to mine; but just about a year apart. Don't be nervous about it. You've already built to 18 miles a week; a little over 19 gets you 1,000 miles. A runner's natural progression is to gradually build mileage in the first 2 or 3 years until finding a natural maximum level, whether determined by time available tor run, or feedback from one's body. Your natural increase will get you to 1,000 easily. You can do it!BTW, small world-- I was born in DC, live in Texas, didn't go to UT, but I'm a big Longhorn fan. Hook 'em!My blog is Running Green, http://vern-running-green.blogspot.com/Good luck!

Hi Sara,
I came across your blog by chance, by way of your dailymile page.
